RuPay PaySecure

Rupay is a growing online card payment method in India. Anyone having RuPay cards can make domestic online debit payments for reservations, booking, ticketing and shopping using Rupay PaySecure.

INTRODUCTION

RuPay, launched by National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), is a domestic debit card, only allowing Indian online shoppers to use this payment method via 'RuPay PaySecure'. RuPay debit card issuance has grown to over 3 million (June 2013) and are now being issued by 20 commercial banks, 32 Regional Rural Banks and over 75 co-operative banks. To ensure only legitimate transactions, the shopper will need to confirm a Rupay payment by entering a one-time password, confirm their personally picked image and personal PIN. Bank of Baroda, Union bank of India and Kotak Mahindra Bank are first banks that have joined as Rupay acquiring banks. NPCI's RuPay PaySecure solution has integrated with 100-plus merchant websites across various categories.
